The political party that was born to be wild, The Organic Living Party puts the PARTY back into politics.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)OLP is inspired by and supportive of Rainbow Coalition, the Green movement, The Green Party, and The Green-Rainbow Party of Massachusetts. We generally support the 10 key green movement foundation values, replacing "feminism" values with a more gender-positive label of "equalitarianism". OLP also follows earlier movements based on "Lebensreform" (life-reform) Q: Are you currently running any candidates for election? A: No. The group was just recently formed and the party platform is under heavy construction. Q: What is the point of having this political party? A: OLP is designed as a reform party for third parties and partially to influence the Two-Party Duopoly in the USA, and the general culture. Q: What is with the cannabis imagery, are you all a bunch of potsmokers? A: OLP generally discourages drug use, for many people drug use can be addictive, and there are enough detrimental secondary effects from most recreational drugs to warrant serious concern. OLP also believes that cannabis production and use should not be criminalized. When it comes to non-violent cannabis activity and persecution in the USA, more often than not, the punishment does not fit the crime. OLP promotes industrial use of hemp for food, fiber, fuel and medicine. "Industrial hemp has little in common with its cousin the 'marijuana' plant. Hemp plant can be grown in most climates, requires little fertilizer and water and NO pesticides nor herbicides. De-regulating hemp production only makes sense," according to the Seattle Hempfest website. |
